Assessment 2: Organisational Change Report

Your assignment will outline your team’s vision of achieving the organisation’s development to a sustainable organisation.  You are a team of organisational change practitioners and you are required to locate a problem an organisation or industry currently faces to and recommend a change strategy.  You will need to use organisation development theory to diagnose the organisation’s change situation, assess and select one or more suitable Interventions, and design an organisation change program.

This task is designed to develop research, analytical skills, communication, and team project management skills.

In developing your recommendations, the written report must utilise two organisational change models/approaches, processes or models to address these research questions:

How can the organisation/industry lessen its impact on the environment?

What framework you used?

What change processes are useful and effective for organisations to develop sustainable practices?

Who will be affected by these changes?

What obstacles might the organisation face? What issues might the change practitioner face during a change program?

How can these obstacles be diagnosed and managed?

What evidence can you use to support your recommendations?

To address these questions, your report needs to cover the following aspects:

Introduction/Background:
Outline the background of the chosen organisation or industry, what needs to change and why. Base this on one Perspective (Leadership, Governance & Management; Sustainability; Innovation & Entrepreneurship; and Technology (disruptive)).

Theoretical Analysis:
Review the theory regarding change process in organisations. Include definitions of key concepts, and analyse and compare the effects and importance of the various drivers of change using at least 2 theories.

Application of Interventions:
Link change theory to the organisation /industry to become sustainable and lessen its impact on the environment and discuss the effects of these changes. This part should connect strongly to your chosen Perspective.

Managing change:
Highlight potential obstacles in the organisation /industry to the proposed changes being sustained in the medium to long term.  Consider how an organisation may overcome such obstacles.  Consider the role of people also.

Recommendations:
Provide and justify specific recommendations.  These should extend from your discussion and use of supporting theory above.  Identify any limitations with change theory.

 

References:
This section will list all references cited in the report. You must have a minimum of 3 peer reviewed journal articles per group member.  You can add other journals, books, internet sources etc.  The reference list needs to be alphabetical and use the Harvard referencing style.
