Description
Observe and interact with a person in the Middle Childhood developmental stage. Write a bullet point outline reporting on this person’s cognitive, social/emotional, physical, spiritual, and (language – Module 2-3 only) development.
1.Provide the gender and age of the person being observed (2 pts).
2.Identify how the observed person aligns with his/her present stage of development and/or if they seem to be in a stage other than would be expected by their age (2 pts).
3.Provide at least 3 bullets for each area of development (physical, cognitive, social/personality, spiritual) for a total of 12 bullets (case studies 2 and 3 will have 15 bullet points to account for 3 bullet points for language). Each of the four areas of development should also have an appropriately applied scripture for a total of 4 scriptures (2 pts each).
•Each bullet is worth 4 pts: ?A bullet should include at least one term, or theorist, or stage based on your reading/videos/websites and research for each area of development (2 pts). Underline these terms in the outline.

Bullet Example
Jane, 12 months old, demonstrates object permanence because she looked for her mom’s keys in the purse after her mother dropped them there. This is appropriate for her age, putting her in the sensorimotor stage according to Piaget’s stages of cognitive development. (Each bullet should contain at least one term, or theorist, or stage.) Scripture example: (For neonatal, I googled scripture on newborns.) One of which was: Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127: 3, which would apply to the physical development stage.

It is recommended that students compile a list of terms, stages, etc. and associated questions to ask, things to look for, etc. to be able to observe these areas.
