project assessment worth 40%

For Assessment 3, you might want to use the 13 steps explained below as a template or as a guide for your research paper. This has been arranged just the way a project report should be.

1. Executive Summary: This is the very first page of every research paper. It is  very brief summary of what is contained in the paper. The aim here is that any prospective reader (especially a busy ceo or a manager) should be able to have an idea of the contents of your research paper by reading this section. It should be written with a view of catching the readers attention to have an indepth read of the entire document.

Ideally, the executive summary should be written at the end of the research paper, so that you’d be able to capture the entire document in your summary.

2. Table of Contents

3. Research Context: Company  Introduction and background into the research problem

4.  Research question/ Hypothesis

5. Exploratory/Secondary Research: What you are able to find out from materials out there about the

(A) Primary Resources: Company Specific Information Resources

(B) Secondary Resources: 3rd party websites, textbooks, journals etc.

6. Primary Research: Using tools such as questionnaires, surveys, interviews, direct observation etc which are moulded on your research question/hypothesis

8. Conclusion: This should be based on the results of both the primary and secondary/exploratory research methods.

9. Recommendation: This will be your proposed solution(s) to the hypothesis. The use of persuasive language like “the company should…” ; “I recommend that…” etc is highly required here as you are trying not to impose your solutions on the management’s decision.

You should also include a plan or strategy about how the recommendations should be adopted in the company e.g the stages of implementation/introduction of your recommendations.

10. Ethical Responsibilities: This will border on the following but not limited to: Confidentiality Issues, Informed Consent, voluntary participation, respondents at risk etc. You should describe or explain how you were able to handle the above issues in relation to your primary research.

11. Limitations to the research: Mainly in terms of time and cash. Respondents prejudice (if any)

12. Appendices.

i. List of Questions in Interview.
