Working in a Different Culture 2

Suppose the company you work for asks you to relocate to another country.  Write a brief (one-page) report about what you need to know before you make the decision.  Also prepare a brief presentation (one to three minutes) about your findings. 

Address the following issues:

• Explain the basics of the country’s culture (high/low-context, language, nonverbal communication, beliefs, values, expectations).

• What are the advantages or disadvantages of moving to this country? 

• Suppose you have a child or plan to have a child in the near future.   Would you want to raise children in this country?  Why or why not?

• What unique opportunities exist for you if you move to this country?

• What websites did you find the most helpful when searching for this information?
